Playground Grants
Playworld’s Grant Guide contains a list of grant opportunities across the United States. You may also be able to find playground grant opportunities in your specific state. States typically wait to post this year’s grant opportunities until they are ready to start receiving applications. Check your state’s website regularly for updates. Here are some state grant opportunities within our service area.
- The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) was created to preserve natural areas and provide recreation opportunities to all Americans. Deadlines and application requirements for these grant programs vary from state-to-state. Check with your state’s administrator for the deadlines and requirements: for Alabama it’s the Alabama Department of Economic & Community Affairs, Georgia is the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, North Carolina is the North Carolina Division of Parks & Recreation, South Carolina is the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism and Tennessee is the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation.
- Other grants in North Carolina include the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program, Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant, and Accessibility for Parks Grant.
- In South Carolina, the Park and Recreation Development Fund and other grant opportunities can be found through the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
- For Tennessee, another grant opportunity is the Local Parks and Recreation Fund.
We suggest searching within your local community. Banks, manufacturers, service clubs, and other businesses may offer grants for projects benefiting the local community.
Financing Options
- Purchasing contracts. Playworld holds contracts with Sourcewell and NASPO ValuePoint to make purchasing easier and more affordable.
- Equipment leasing. The Playworld leasing program increases your purchasing power by providing a monthly payment plan that is right for you.
- Playground phasing. Playground phasing allows you to install and pay for your playground one section at a time. It’s a great way to build your dream playground while spreading the cost over a longer period.
